Bangladesh reported 77 deaths from Covid-19 in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Wednesday, which is the lowest single-day fatalities after April 13 when 69 people succumbed to the virus, according to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.
The latest death toll has pushed the total number of deaths tally to 11,305.
Besides, 2,955 more people tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of infected patients to 754,614 said the release.
The death rate now stands at 1.50 per cent and the infection rate at 10.48 per cent.
In the meantime, 5,392 patients got cured from the virus during the same period taking the total number of recoveries to 672,319 with the recovery rate at 89.09 per cent.
Bangladesh is currently observing a nationwide lockdown which will continue till May 5 to tackle a second wave of the virus pandemic.
