Bangladesh on Thursday recorded 59 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours till 8:00am, the highest single-day death toll since the first case was reported.
The Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the matter in a press release.
Besides, 6,469 positive cases were recorded during the same period, also a record.
Bangladesh previously registered single-day highest cases of 5,358 on Wednesday.
This is for the fourth consecutive day Bangladesh recorded over 5,000 COVID-19 cases on a single-day.
