A one-minute symbolic blackout was observed on Friday night across the country marking the Genocide Day.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs took the initiative to observe the blackout from 9:00pm to 9:01pm.

However, the key point installations and the essential establishments remained out of the purview of the programme.

On the occasion, the government also imposed restrictions on illuminations at all the government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and structures at night on March 25.

Lightings will be allowed from March 26 evening.
