Bangladesh observes state mourning paying respect to Shinzo Abe

Bangladesh on Saturday observed one-day state mourning at the death of its 'real friend' and former prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe who was shot at a political campaign event in Japan on Friday.

On the death of Shinzo Abe, the national flag were kept at half-mast in all government and semi-government and autonomous institutions and educational institutions of Bangladesh, including all government and private buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad, reports BSS.

Special prayers were offered seeking salvation of the departed soul of the former premier of Japan.

President Md Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and many other people conveyed condolence messages to the government of Japan.

“People of Japan sincerely appreciate the deepest condolence by the government and people of Bangladesh,” said the Japanese Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday, reports UNB.

Shinzo Abe, 67, died after being shot while giving a campaign speech in Japan.

Abe immediately collapsed and was seen bleeding before he was taken to hospital.

The attack on Abe and his subsequent death shocked the entire world.
