A consignment of 7.9 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has reached Bangladesh from Germany.
A Qatar Airways flight carrying the vaccine doses landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:00pm on Saturday.
Senior Secretary of Health Service Division Lokman Hossain Miah and German Ambassador to Bangladesh Achim Tröster received the doses at the airport.
Bangladesh has so far collected 5,27,19,940 doses of vaccines and approved eight Covid-19 vaccines to control the deadly disease.
The approved vaccines are from Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, CoronaVac, Pfizer, Covishield, Sputnik V, AstraZeneca and Sinopharm.
