Bangladesh records highest 264 single-day Covid deaths

Bangladesh registered 264 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday, which is the highest ever single-day tally since the pandemic started in the country in March, 2020.

Besides, 12,744 people tested positive for the virus during the same period, according to a release issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DGHS).

With the latest figures, the death toll from the virus now stands at 21,902 with 13,22654 total caseloads.

In the 24 hours, the rate of positivity dropped slightly to 27.12 per cent from Wednesday’s 27.91 per cent while the recovery rate rose to 87.47 per cent, said the DGHS.

The mortality rate rose to 1.66 per cent during the same period which was registered at 1.65 per cent on Wednesday.
