Twenty-eight people died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Sunday, according to a release issued by the Director General of Health Services.
Besides, 1,354 people tested positive for the virus during the same period pushing the caseloads to 7,89,080.
The toll of recoveries rose to 730,697 with 899 patients cured from the disease in the past 24 hours, said the press release.
The government earlier in the day extended the ongoing countrywide lockdown for one more week until May 30 midnight to stop the spread of coronavirus.
