Bangladesh registered 36 Covid-19 deaths in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Thursday, taking its tally to 12,284, according to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.
Besides, 1,457 people tested positive for the virus during the same period pushing the caseloads to 7,85,194.
The toll of recoveries rose to 727,510 with 1,378 patients got cured of the disease in the 24 hours taking the rate of recoveries at 92.65 per cent, said the directorate.
The rate of positivity now stands at 13.60 per cent while the mortality rate at 1.56 per cent.
Bangladesh is currently observing a nationwide lockdown which is scheduled to continue till May 23, to curb risks of a second of the coronavirus pandemic.
