39 patients died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours as of Thursday, taking the death toll to 3,306.
Besides, 2,977 more people tested positive for the virus, which makes 249,651 confirmed cases in total.
Director of National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) Professor Dr Bayezid Khurshid Riyaz revealed the information at a regular online briefing on Thursday afternoon.
Dr Riyaz mentioned that a total of 13,189 samples were collected and 12,708 tested in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 1,225,124 samples have been tested in the country.
With 2,074 new recoveries, a total of 143,824 patients recovered from coronavirus to date.
The deceased, of whom 32 were males and seven females.
Under division-wise categorisation, 17 hailed from the Dhaka division, seven from Chattogram, four from Khulna, three each from Rajshahi and Rangpur, two each from Barishal and Sylhet, and one from the Mymensingh division.
30 of the deceased breathed their last while undergoing treatment at various hospitals and nine died at home.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection crossed the 700,000-mark, taking the death toll to 706,041 as of Thursday morning, according to the data provided by the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.
Moreover, 18,727,530 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.
So far, 12,161,993 people have recovered.
