Bangladesh reports 63 more COVID-19 deaths, 7,462 fresh cases

The death toll from COVID-19 rose to 9,584 in Bangladesh with 63 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Friday.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter in a press release.

Besides, 7,462 people tested positive for the virus during the same period taking the total number of infections to 6,73,594.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 5,68,541 with 3,511 patients got cured in the last 24 hours, said the DGHS.

As Bangladesh is observing a nationwide lockdown for a week from April 5, the government considers imposing a strict lockdown from April 14 to curb the spread of COVID-19, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said earlier in the day.
