Bangladesh will celebrate World Children’s Day with due fervour on Monday with the theme “Let’s invest for children, build the future world”.
Besides celebrating World Children’s Day, the country will also observe Child Rights Week 2023 from October 2-October 8.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on this occasion.
On the occasion of World Children's Day and Children's Rights Week, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, UNICEF, national and international children's groups, and development organizations have arranged a variety of programmes, said a press release from the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
There will be poetry recitations, painting competitions, wall painting, debate competitions, quiz competitions, cultural programmes, children's dialogues, sports, tree planting programmes, and round table meetings for children.
Various children's organizations also have arranged separate programmes on education, development, children's rights, and child protection.
Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar, and several private television channels will air programmes marking World Children's Day.
Buildings and important highways in Dhaka will be decorated with posters, PVC, and festoon banners.
World Children's Day and Children's Rights Week will be observed in all districts and upazilas, added the press release.
