Bangladesh will go into Covid-19 vaccine production from next year, Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman F Rahman said on Tuesday.

He came up with the remarks while speaking at the "Meet the Reporters" programme, organised by Dhaka Reporters' Unity, in the capital.

Besides, Incepta has entered into an agreement with a Chinese company. They have full capacity to produce vaccines, he also added.

He also stressed on the necessity of Digital Security Act to contain the spreading of misinformation and said, "People allege that digital security law is hindering the press freedom in Bangladesh; but different countries across the world also have this act in different names.”

Salman also added that USA stopped Twitter account through an act like digital security act.

"Misinformation should be controlled as it spread rapidly through social media and a piece of false information can create unrest in society," he added.

"However, we have to resolve controversial problems through discussion. You (Journalists) are the main stakeholders here," he further said.
