Unidentified miscreants looted valuables from the home of a banker couple in Isdair area of Fatulla, Narayanganj.
The incident took place at the home of Anik, 28, the son of journalist Shah Alom, at 3pm on Wednesday. Anik and his wife both work for IFIC Bank.
Anik lodged a complaint regarding the incident with the Fatullah police station, naming two unidentified men as the culprits.
According to the statement provided in the complaint, Anik and his wife had left their home at 8am on Wednesday. At 3pm, two miscreants in an autorickshaw broke the lock of their house door and entered the house.
Later, they stole gold ornaments from the cupboard in the house. The estimated value of the stolen ornaments is Tk 4.85 lakh. Police arrived at the scene after receiving news of the robbery and collected evidence.
Fatulla Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur-e-Azam said that the police are working to identify those involved in the robbery.
