Discussion on ‘Banking-Insurance Curriculum’ held at DU

A roundtable discussion on "Banking-Insurance Curriculum: Responding to the Need of the Industry" has been held on Saturday evening at Dhaka University (DU) campus.

The Banking and Insurance department of the university arranged the programme at Prof Dr Abdullah Farouk Multipurpose Hall of the Business Studies Faculty.

Prof Dr Hasina Sheykh, chairman of the department presided over the event.

Mr Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah, secretary, financial institutions division, Ministry of Finance, was present as chief guest in the event while a number of handful leading Managing Directors & CEOs from different commercial banks & NBFIs and senior executives from the Central Bank joined the Roundtable as speakers.

Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah said, “I especially thanked the authorities who organised the programme. This event will help the students to gather knowledge on Banking Insurance. It should be continuing in future.”

Knowledge on specialised financial services like banking and insurance is continuously changing throughout the world. As a result, the department took this initiative to prepare their students with such up-to-date knowledge and business acumen so that they can better serve the industry.
