Banks to stay open this weekend for RMG payments

The Bangladesh bank (BB) has asked all scheduled banks to keep branches in industrial areas open on Friday and Saturday (July 8 & July 9) to facilitate payments of arrears for readymade garments workers and export bills.

Bank branches in Dhaka metropolitan, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chattagram will be kept opened on the respective dates while ensuring adequate security, Bangladesh Bank said in a circular issued on Sunday.
