22 officials, including six former managing directors of Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Ltd (BCMCL), were released from Dinajpur jail on Thursday morning after a district court granted them bail.
District jailor Faridur Rahman Rubel confirmed the information to the media.
Dinajpur District and Sessions Special Judge Mahmudul Karim granted them bail after the defence lawyer Nuruzzaman Lohani presented necessary High Court documents before the court on Wednesday.
143,727.92 tonnes of coal worth 243 crore taka were stolen from the mine from January 2006 till July 19, 2018.
Later, BCMCL manager (admin) Anisur Rahman, as a plaintiff, filed a case with Parbatipur Model Police Station on July 24, 2018.
