Bangladesh Bank has printed a commemorative gold coin worth Tk 50 on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.
The commemorative gold coin will be available at the Motijheel office of Bangladesh Bank from December 15 and later from other branch offices, said a press release on Thursday.
The coin made of 25 mm diameter corrugated design and 22 carat gold with a face value of Tk 50 weighs 10g.
On the front of the coin is the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the back of the coin there is a monogram of Bangladesh Bank inside “0” of “50”, below the monogram there is “1971-2021”, on the upper side there is a semicircular “Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh,” and in the lower side “Fifty Taka” is printed.
The coin is priced at Tk 66,000 including the commemorative box.
