BBS director dies from Covid-19

A director of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) died from coronavirus at a Dhaka hospital on Saturday (June 20) evening.

Jafar Ahmed Khan, director (computer wing) of the BBS, got infected with coronavirus in recent days, said Shahed Rahman, senior information officer of Planning Ministry.

He passed away at 7:55pm while undergoing treatment at Sarkari Karmachari Hospital in the capital.

Jafar Ahmed joined the government service through the 9th BCS examination.
