Beacon Pharmaceuticals Limited, a leading pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh, on Wednesday donated medicines worth Tk 40 lakh for Palestinians affected by the recent Israeli attacks in Gaza.
The executive director of Beacon Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mohammad Ebadul Karim, handed over the medicines to foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at the state guest house Padma. These medicines will be sent to Gaza with assistance from Jordan.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has decided to give $50,000 as humanitarian assistance to Palestine, Dr Momen told reporters.
The foreign minister said Bangladesh since its birth has been a tested friend of Palestine and have been supporting the cause of the Palestinians ever since.
The ambassador of State of Palestine in Dhaka, Yousef SY Ramadan, was present on the occasion.
