BGB destroys drugs worth Tk 395cr in Cox's Bazar

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has destroyed a large quantity of seized drugs worth Tk 395 crore in Cox’ Bazar.

BGB have destroyed 90,80,477 pieces of yaba, 23,752kg of crystal meth ice, 6,767 cans of beer, 1,339 bottles of foreign alcohol, 154 bottles of phensidyl, 206 liters of local alcohol; 17kg of cannabis, 48,019 pieces different types of tablets, 10,984 packets of cigarettes and seven bottles of ammonium sulfur, a press release said on Friday.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan was present as the chief guest on the occasion.

The estimated value of the destroyed drugs is Tk 3,95,76,47,575. 

Director-General of Border Guard Bangladesh Major General Shakil Ahmed, members of parliament, journalists from print and electronic media, among others, were also present.
