Biman Bangladesh Airlines has come forward to help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey.

It is delivering relief materials to the Turkish city of Istanbul free of charge from Canada and Bangladesh, says a press release.

It said that 7,740 kg of cargo was transported free of charge from Dhaka to Istanbul through a Biman flight on February 19. The Turkish Embassy in Dhaka sent the products. Biman will deliver 30 tonnes of relief goods from Dhaka to Turkey through several flights.

On February 15, Biman delivered 3,010 kg of relief materials to Istanbul through a flight from Canada’s Toronto. The products were delivered from the Turkish Consulate in Toronto.

Despite the lack of permission to transport goods from Toronto to Istanbul, the goods were transported on an urgent basis with special permission from the relevant authorities in Canada.

As the national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines is always at the side of the distressed people. Such service activities will continue in the future as well.
