Biman Bangladesh Airlines has launched its flights on the Dhaka-Guangzhou-Dhaka route.

The State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, the airlines said in a media statement issued on Thursday.

The first flight of the Dhaka-Guangzhou-Dhaka route left from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:00am with 177 passengers. The flight will reach China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport around 4:45pm.

The return flight from Guangzhou will take off at 7:45pm and reach Dhaka at 9:30pm.

The state minister said, "Dhaka-Guangzhou route will make it easier for Bangladeshi students and businessmen to travel to China. Although the flight frequency is low at present, it will increase in the near future".

“Besides increasing trade and communication between the two countries, this route will become one of the most profitable routes for the aviation sector,” the state minister added.
