The Biman Bangladesh Airlines will launch a smartphone app and loyalty club to provide passengers with modernised services, marking its 51st anniversary on January 4.
Biman passengers can purchase tickets and get necessary information about flights through the app. Besides, the loyalty club members will get various benefits, read a press release issued Thursday.
Passengers can download the “Biman” app on any smartphone from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. They can then purchase tickets by paying through bKash, Rocket, or Visa, Master and Amex debit and credit cards through the app.
The release warned that apart from the new Biman app, there is currently no official app available for this airline.
Meanwhile, members of the loyalty club can use their mileage earned by travelling to different destinations with Biman to avail of various perks, such as reward tickets, seat upgradation, access to baggage facilities and lounge.
The gold and silver level members will also receive lounge access and various benefits with a companion travelling on the same flight.
Regarding the loyalty club membership, the release read that the ex-members of Biman Loyalty Club should visit Biman's website [www.biman-airlines.com], sign up for the loyalty club option and update their password using their existing email ID.
To become a new member of the loyalty club, passengers have to go to the loyalty club option on Biman's website, enter the “Become a member” option, and click on the send option with an e-mail and a password of their choice.
After that, a membership number can be obtained by verifying an OTP code received in the e-mail.
A passenger will accumulate mileage if the membership number is used while purchasing tickets. Mileage will automatically be credited to the virtual card within 48 hours of travel.
