The Saudi government has made biometric registration mandatory for Bangladeshis wishing to perform the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage from next year.
The decision will come into effect from January 1, 2022, read a notification issued by Saudi Arabia Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Pilgrims will be unable to obtain a Saudi visa unless they register with the app and submit their biometric data.
Bangladeshis wishing to perform the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage have to submit their biometric data through the Saudi Visa Bio mobile app. The app is available on Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.
