The Saudi government has announced that pilgrims from Bangladesh must submit visa applications through biometric method in order to perform Hajj this year.

“The required preparations are being made in order to process visa applications using biometric technology,” according to a Ministry of Religious Affairs circular.

Pilgrims are requested to keep their passports with them instead of submitting to the Ashkona Hajj Office.

Also, those who have already turned in their passports are urged to retrieve them back. All concerned will be notified from time to time, the circular added.

The Hajj will be held on June 27 subject to the sighting of the moon. This year some 1,27,198 pilgrims, management team members, and guides will go to Saudi Arabia.
