Bloodman offers relief and health services to flood victims

To tackle food, clean water and health care crises among flood victims, blood donating organisation Bloodman distributed relief goods and offered health services at a village in Sunamganj on Friday.

Together with Dhaka University Chatro Poribohon Porishod (DUCPP) and Bangladesh Medical Student Society (BMSS), and supported by the Turkish Corporation and Coordination Agency, Bloodman reached the village with relief and health services, read a press release received on Monday.

Packages of relief supplies containing ten kinds of products, including candles, flattened rice, biscuits, bread and other food items, were distributed to 400 families at Sachna village in Jamalganj Upazila of Sunamganj.

“We were in agony, seeing the devastation the flood caused to the Sylhet region. The victims need more of our support so they can return to their lives and overcome their suffering,” said Bloodman Co-founder Mehedi Hasan.

Moreover, health services and medications were provided by physicians to 70 patients through health camps in Sachna Bazar.

DU transport department provided a bus, and Tour Group BD provided a boat for the volunteers.

“Students of DU have always come forward in the crisis period of the country. This time is no exception,” said DU Khanika Bus service President Atiqul Islam.
