The Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance (BNHGA) has demanded 8 points to protect minority communities in the country.
The BNHGA announced these points in a press conference at the Dhaka University Journalist's Associate (DUJA) at 4pm on Friday.
"After the resignation of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, a total of 44 districts were attacked where home, places of worship and businesses of minorities have been attacked and vandalised," said the leaders and activists of BNHGA in the conference.
Dr Mrityunjay Kumar Ray, General Secretary of BNHGA, said in his speech, " After the fall of fascist government in the face of the mass uprising, A country has been made where the human rights of every citizen should be secured. Now, the aim of all of us should be to make Bangladesh a liberal, democratic and anti-discrimination country."
Mrityunjay Kumar added, "The Liberation War also aimed to establish a free from exploitation, anti-discrimination liberal and democratic country. After the mass uprising of the students-people, a new opportunity has been created also to establish a free-from-exploitation, anti-discrimination liberal and democratic country. We must always be careful so that this opportunity is not lost."
The Eight point demands are
one day public holiday to be declared for Jagannath Dev's Maha Pavrit Rath Yatra.
