Miscreants vandalised and set the Nandigram upazila unit BNP office on fire, in Bogura district on Friday night.
General Secretary of the upazila unit BNP, Belayet Hossain Adar said, a group of masked miscreants swooped on the office around 10pm and set it on fire after pouring petrol.
They also vandalised the chairs at the office. The furniture and banner of the office were also burnt in the fire.
BNP has organised a 2-hour sit-in programme on Saturday as part of their 10-point demand. The leaders of the upazila unit BNP were not present at the office during the incident as they went to the police station to get permission.
On information, local people had doused the flame before a firefighting unit reached the spot, said Nandigram Fire Service and Civil Defence Warehouse Inspector Tanvir Hasan.
Condemning the incident, former MP of Bogura-4 constituency Mosharraf Hossain, demanded punishment of those involved in the attack.
Police visited the spot at night.
