Body of missing child recovered from Ctg’s Chaktai canal

Divers from the local Fire Service recovered the body of a 12-year-old child from Rajakhali point in the Chaktai canal on Wednesday morning. The child had gone missing from the Fishery Ghat area of Chattogram city on Tuesday.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.

Local residents discovered the body floating in the canal and promptly notified the fire service station. Md Noman, sub-inspector of Bakolia Police Station, confirmed that the fire service team retrieved the body early Wednesday.

On Tuesday, two children fell into the canal while playing along the bank. Upon receiving the information, divers from the local fire service station rushed to the scene and initiated a rescue operation.

Nurul Alam Ashek, in-charge of Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, stated that the body has been sent to the hospital morgue for further procedures.
