Police on Saturday recovered a body of an unidentified young woman wrapped in a plastic bag from a canal in Pabna's Sujanagar.
Police assumed that the deceased was around 28 years old. The body was mutilated when it was found.
Locals said the police were informed when they saw a plastic bag floating in the canal at Bhadurbhag village in Hatkhali union of the upazila around 6:00pm.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sujanagar police station, said Police suspect it to be premeditated murder. They have already started investigating the matter.
The body has been kept in the morgue, the OC added.
