The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP), during a drive in Bogura Sadar Upazila on Wednesday, fined the owner of Sultan Badshah spice grinding shop Tk 1 lakh for mixing textile dye and wood with spice and indulging in other irregularities.
Sources concerned said the team led by the assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in Bogura Iftekharul Alam Rizvi conducted the drive at Sultan Badshah spice grinding shop and fined Tk 1 lakh for mixing textile dye and wood with spice in Raja Bazar under Sadar upazila of the district.
The business establishment was fined Tk 100,000 for various irregularities and violations of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009. Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation.
The DNCPR will continue such drives in the district, assistant director of DNCRP Iftekharul Alam Rizvi said.
