The Boishommo Birodhi Chhatra Andolon is set to hold a rally in Dhaka on Monday, protesting the Ansars’ violent attack on students, demanding the trial of all conspirators – including the former director general (DG) of Ansar, and the administration to be freed from fascism.
The students’ platform will hold the demonstration at the base of Raju sculpture in Dhaka University at 6pm.
On Sunday, Ansar members launched a movement demanding nationalisation of their jobs. They later surrounded the Secretariat, and demanded a job nationalisation notification to be issued by 10pm.
Ansars also clashed with the students. Hasnat Abdullah, one of the Boishommo Birodhi Chhatra Andolon coordinators, was injured in the clash.
The police filed a case against around 4,500 Ansar members in Shahbagh, Paltan and Ramna police stations of the capital on several charges, such as the obstruction of police work by illegally blocking roads and sabotage.
Among them, more than three hundred members of Ansar were brought to court on Monday evening.
