A fourth grader has died falling off the rooftop of a seven-storey building in Dhaka’s Khilkhet area while flying a kite.
The deceased was Md Salman Adib, 9, son of Md Ruhul Amin, an employee of the Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police.
The incident occurred around 3pm on Friday, said the victim’s father. “He went to the rooftop alone today [Friday] and fell off while playing.”
He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctors announced him dead.
The body was sent for an autopsy, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost.
