BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh has called on the organisation's employees to stand beside the victims in all disasters or humanitarian crises.
"BRAC plays a leading role in case of any disaster or humanitarian crisis; it set that example during the recent fire incident at Rohingya camps," Asif said while visiting the fire-affected areas in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya.
Over 9,000 houses were gutted and about 45,000 Rohingyas became homeless due to a fire incident at Camp 8 and 9 at Ukhiya's Balukhali on March 23 this year.
The BRAC executive director went around the learning centre, health post, water network station at Camp-9 and an adolescent centre at Camp-8.
"Following the fire incident, we conducted emergency activities including providing water, food, healthcare service and rehabilitation with the government's support. BRAC Employees are still working in this regard," he said.
During his visit to two refugee camps Tuesday, Asif also exchanged views with Phedra Moon Morris, head of Development Assistance of the Canadian High Commission in Bangladesh, said a media release Wednesday.
