Another doctor in the country died from the novel coronavirus infection.
Dr Sajjad Hossain, intensive care unit (ICU) in-charge and a former associate professor of Anesthesiology at BRB Hospital, passed away Saturday night.
Joint Secretary of Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
He said Dr Sajjad was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)'s ICU for the last 14 days. he breathed his last at about 9 pm yesterday.
So far, 31 doctors died in the country from Covid-19 till date. Another five passed away suffering from symptoms similar to those of coronavirus infection.
Dr Sajjad's wife is also currently undergoing treatment at DMCH after being diagnosed with Covid-19 on Thursday.
