The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) on Sunday held a meeting discussing the 2nd phase disbursement of its academic scholarship for the children of corporation employees.
Primary and Mass Education Ministry Additional Secretary and BRTC Chairman Md Tazul Islam presided over the meeting, held at the corporation head office in the capital. The BRTC has already awarded scholarships worth Tk 15 lakh to 159 students under different categories.
Though established in 1961, the BRTC employees and staff had started receiving a number of benefits such as the recreation allowance, education scholarship and welfare fund from 2021, read a press release.
Under the leadership of the present chairman, the BRTC has transformed into a profitable institution. Employees are getting salary on the first working day of every month along with all applicable facilities.
The BRTC has plans to expand the scope of this academic scholarship.
