BSF returns body of Bangladeshi man 2 days after killing

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday returned the body of a 40-year-old Bangladeshi man, two days after he was shot dead.

The deceased, Nuruzzaman, was the son of Taslim Uddin, from Ratnai village of Amjankhor in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon.

Baliadangi Police Station Sub-inspector Abdus Sobhan confirmed the matter.

BSF returned Nuruzaman's body on Wednesday night through the border pillar-380 of Beurjhari BoP of Amjankhor union of the upazila in the presence of Sonamati Company Commander of 152 BSF, TC Rajib Chandra Roy, BGB’s Beurjhari Company Commander Subedar Samsul Alam, and SI Raimon of North Dinajpur Lohar Islampur Police Station.

Thakurgaon 50 BGB Battalion Commander Lt.Col. Tanzir Ahmed said the body was handed over to the police in coordination with the BGB and BSF.

Later, Baliadangi police handed over the body to the deceased’s elder brother Nabirul.

Earlier on Monday, members of BSF opened fire on Nuruzzaman, and 10-12 other men after they went near the Indian border to smuggle cows.

Nuruzzaman died on the spot while others managed to flee the scene.

Later, the BSF took the body of the deceased to their camp.
