Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday described Indian Border Security Force’s (BSF) attempt to push in a mentally challenged Indian citizen to Bangladesh through Feni River bordering area as unexpected.
He conveyed the message to Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das when she met him to hand over more medical assistance for Bangladesh to fight Covid-19.
“Such an incident might have an adverse impact on the friendly relations between the two countries,” he said.
The Foreign Minister urged the Indian High Commissioner to alert the BSF so that such incident does not take place in the future.
Dr Momen requested the Indian High Commissioner to take required steps so that trucks laden with imported goods from India, stuck at Petrapol border, can enter Bangladesh quickly.
He said Bangladeshi importers are facing losses as the trucks were stuck with imported goods.
