The Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Ltd’s (BTCL) three domain servers witnessed technical glitch early Wednesday. Users are unable to access a number of key national websites because of this error.
According to the domain service providers, a technical glitch occurred in the root domain network system (DNS) of Bangladesh's virtual national identity.
As a result, the government and private websites in three domains – .gov.bd, .com.bd, and .bangla— are unavailable in web browsers despite having a proper internet connection.
"A problem in the system was identified at 8:40am on Wednesday, vendors are working to resolve it," BTCL’s Marketing & Public Relations General Manager Mir Mohammed Morshed said in a press release issued on the same day.
“We sincerely apologise for the temporary inconvenience caused to the customers due to the disruption of various government and private websites,” Morshed added.
The domain —.bangla— is now functioning properly, according to the press release.
