BUHS celebrates Victory Day

The Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) has celebrated the golden jubilee of the glorious victory with deep tributes to the martyrs of the Liberation War.

The University arranged day-long programmes at its campus on December 16, said a press release.

The teachers, students and officials of the university paid homage to the Liberation War martyrs by placing floral wreath to the national mausoleum.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Ibrahim Auditorium of the University. National Professor Dr AK Azad Khan, president of Bangladesh Diabetic Somity, was present in the meeting as chief guest while Prof Dr Faridul Alam, vice-chancellor of the university, attended as special guest.

Prof Dr Md Sohrab Ali, former Member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission, was the chief discussant and Prof Dr Md Anower Hussain, the dean of the Faculty of Public Health, also addressed the event.

Prof Dr Md Zahid Hassan, registrar of BUHS welcomed the participants at the function while Prof Dr Sharmin Parveen, the dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, presided over it.

Earlier, a colourful victory rally marched through the campus in the morning.

The victory day programs also include Pitha festival and a cultural show.
