Miscreants set a bus and truck on fire in separate incidents in Chattogram district on Wednesday during the ongoing nationwide three-day blockade enforced by the BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties.
Zahedur Rahman, duty officer of Rangunia Fire Service and Civil Defence, said miscreants set a truck on fire on Chattogram-Kaptai Road in Rangunia upazila in the morning.
On information, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
Picketers in support of the blockade also put up barricade on the road by placing logs.
Meanwhile, a bus was set on fire at Bhellapara crossing in Karnaphuli area of Chattogram city at 8am.
The second day of the blockade is underway today with incidents of violence and arson attacks.
