Six people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on Bogura-Dhaka Highway in Sherpur upazila of Bogura early Sunday.
The injured were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH).
The drivers of the bus and the truck were among the deceased. Details of them couldn’t be known immediately.
Sherpur Highway Police Outpost In-Charge Baniul Anam confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
Locals said the six people died on the spot when a Bogura-bound bus of SA Paribahan and a stone-laden truck collided head-on in college road area of Sherpur municipality around 5am.
On information, police and Fire Service members rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.
Vehicular movement on the highway was suspended for around one hour following the accident, said Baniul Anam.
