Business Post reporter Rokon’s father passes away

Abdul Gaffar, the father of The Business Post’s Staff Correspondent Rokon Uddin, passed away at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday.

He took his last breath at 3:20pm while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The 59-year-old had been suffering from various health complications, including lung, kidney and diabetes, for a long time.

Abdul Gaffar has left his wife, three sons, relatives and well-wishers. He was buried at the family graveyard at Kumarpara village in Narayanganj's Araihazar after a funeral prayer on Thursday night.

The Business Post family mourned the death of Abdul Gaffan and expressed condolences to his bereaved family.

Dhaka Reporters Unity President Mursalin Nomani and General Secretary Mynul Hasan Sohel, Economic Reporters' Forum President Mohammad Refayet Ullah Mirdha and General Secretary Abul Kashem, Capital Market Journalists' Forum (CMJF), and Insurance Reporters' Forum expressed deep sorrow and grief over his death.
