Business Post’s Rokon gets nutrition governance fellowship

The Business Post reporter Rokon Uddin and nine other journalists have received fellowships on nutrition governance. 

The fellowship has been awarded under the European Union-funded “Collective Responsibility, Action and Accountability for Improved Nutrition” project implemented by the international development organisation Concern Worldwide.

The Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC) provided strategic support for this project.

The journalists received certificates and crests at a function in Dhaka on Tuesday. 

Other fellowship awardees are — Zahidur Rahman of Samakal, Jenia Kabir Shuchona of Channel 24, Jayshree Bhaduri of Bangladesh Pratidin, Dolar Mehdi of Ekattor TV, Rashed Bappi of Somoy TV, Zaheer Munna of Channel i, Kamrun Nahar of The Business Standard, Yeamin Ali of Jamuna Television (Bagerhat correspondent), and SS Sohan of Ajker Patrika (Bagerhat correspondent). 

Concern Worldwide Country Director for Bangladesh Manish Kumar Agrawal chaired the event, which was moderated by Mir Masrur Zaman, director of SoMaSHTe, a non-governmental organisation related to media which gives training on nutrition governance, fellowship and implements other media-related activities. 

Individuals from the policymaking and editorial level of different media houses attended the event as special guests. Meher Nigar Bhuiyan, program manager of the EU's Resilient Livelihood Program, and Emranul Haq of Concern Worldwide spoke on various aspects of nutrition governance.

The training module on journalism in nutrition governance was unveiled at the event.
