Police have recovered the dead body of a businessman from a residential hotel in the North Kamalapur area of the capital.

The deceased was identified as Tarun Kanti Sen, 51, confirmed Sabuj Ali, sub-inspector (SI) of Motijheel police station on Wednesday.

He said Tarun was found unconscious in room 701 of Al Farooq Hotel in North Kamalapur around 11:30pm on Tuesday. He was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at 1:00am on Wednesday after completing the legal procedures.

Doctors declared him dead on arrival, SI Sabuj added.

Tarun rented the room on June 7. The body was recovered when hotel authorities called the police after knocking several times at night but not getting any response from inside the room.

No signs of injuries were seen on his body during the initial investigation. Police primarily believe Tarun might have had died from a stroke.

The body was taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy, the SI further said.

Tarun Kanti Sen, a hotelier by profession, hailed from the Kotwali area in Chattogram.
