BWCCI for raising awareness on gender equality at workplace

The Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) on Monday with the support of the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) organised an event titled “Awareness Raising Workshop on Gender Based Violence at the Workplace” at the Lakeshore Heights, Gulshan-1, Dhaka. 

Chief Guest of the workshop was Director of CIPE Barbara Langley and the workshop was presided by the President of BWCCI Selima Ahmad, Senior Vice President-BWCCI Sangita Ahmed, Vice President- BWCCI Sabina Alam, and Director-BWCCI Ridma Khan were the discussants of the program, read a press release.

Advocate of Bangladesh Supreme Court Shaila Parvin Pia was present as a resource person.

Other four Board of Directors and 23 General members participated in the workshop. There was a brief presentation on gender based violence at the Workplace and an open discussion was held after the presentation.

There was a short question and answer session in the workshop where the women entrepreneurs participated. All the participants are advised to raise awareness on gender equality on the society and organisation level.
