The clearing and forwarding agents of Chittagong Custom House withdrew their strike after holding talks with authorities over their six-point demand on Thursday afternoon.

C&F agent began the strike this morning demanding withdrawal of license suspension of an agent.

Custom house authorities suspended the license of Prime Clearing House, a C&F agent, on Wednesday for alleged misconduct with customs officials.

Commissioner of Chittagong Custom House, Fakhrul Alam, said that customs officials held a meeting with Chittagong Custom House C&F Agents Association at around 4:00pm where the decision of license suspension was withdrawn.

The C&F agents association alleged that some custom officials had been harassing importers and C&F agents for bribes.

Kazi Mahamud Imam Bilu, the first joint secretary of C&F Agents Association, said they called the strike to bring an end to day-to-day harassment by custom officials.
