A case has been filed over the death of a security guard after being struck by a car in Dhaka’s East Rajabazar area on Thursday morning.
The case was filed against the car's owner, Engineer Mofidul, a former BIWTA official, following a complaint lodged by the victim's wife under the Road Transport Act.
Sub-Inspector Ataur Rahman, duty officer of Sherebangla Nagar Police Station, confirmed the matter on Friday afternoon.
Police have yet to arrest the accused.
The victim, identified as Fazlu Mia, was hit by a white sedan owned by Mofidul Islam around 8am on Thursday.
Despite being rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Fazlu was pronounced dead upon arrival.
