A murder case has been filed against star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan with the city’s Adabor police station, accusing him of ordering the killing of garment worker Rubel. Shakib is the 28th accused in the case.

Besides, the rest of the accused in this case are former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman and 156 others. Another 400-500 unnamed people have also been accused.

According to the case statement, the plaintiff complained that on August 5, Rubel participated in a protest march on Adabor ring road. At that time, with the direct and indirect instructions, encouragement, help, cooperation and direct support of the accused, someone fired at the procession.

Rubel was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen, and succumbed to his injuries on August 7.
