Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority filed a case in connection with Sunday’s launch capsize in Shitalakkhya river near the third Shitalakkhya Bridge in Narayanganj that left at least 34 people dead.
Babu Lal Baidya, assistant director of BIWTA at Narayanganj Launch Terminal filed the case with Narayanganj Port police station on Tuesday night accusing unnamed people.
Narayanganj Port police station officer-in-charge Dipak Chandra Saha said that people responsible for the incident would be arrested at the earliest possible time, reports Daily Amader Somoy.
The launch, ML Sabit Al Hasan, sank around 6:00 pm Sunday with around 50 passengers onboard, after it was hit by a cargo vessel.
